Our Worship Service
At Cornerstone we want to worship the Lord Jesus in spirit and in truth. We believe in the moves of the Holy Spirit and the power of God to do the miraculous. In the Mighty Name of Jesus, we declare an open heavens over the church and anticipate powerful moves of God in our midst.
As a Pentecostal church we believe the power of the Holy Spirit is as present today as in the days of the Apostles. 1Corinthians 12:7-11
7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
At 9:45 AM on Sundays, prior to service we intercede and worship and awaken people to the presence of the Holy Spirit in anointed music led by Pastor's wife Jean. At 10:30 AM led by Assistant Pastor Dan we begin our praise & worship service by calling the worshipers in with the blowing of the Shofar. Worship Services led by HIS SERVANT worship team combine many forms of music to worship our Lord. We believe that there is something for everyone in our services. Yes you may hear a traditional hymn at times, southern gospel, or a new worship song that you have heard recently on the radio.
At all times the Holy Spirit is in charge. We do not see the orderly intervention of Holy Spirit manifestation as a hindrance but as a blessing to the service.
Prophecy, deliverance, healing, miracles signs and wonders, impartation, empowerment and baptisms of the Holy Spirit have and do occur.
Second Sunday @ Six evening service is a more relaxed service with different music styles by different worship teams, country, gospel, blue grass, etc. Anointed preaching from different lay people and resident Pastoral leaders of our church.
While we believe in continuity of worship and hearing the Gospel, we do not stand on tradition. We follow a basic format but God shakes things up a bit now and then. You should never come to church expecting the "same old, same old", but come with a spirit of excitement and anticipation of what the Lord will do in the next service. At all times the Holy Spirit is in charge and we will not stand in God's way when he wants to do something special in our service!
